Nick Alford is a founding partner of Kingston Smith Consulting LLP. Nick has over 25 years experience in asset management gained in UK, Europe and the Far East where he held Executive Board positions. He has particular expertise in leading large scale operational and technology teams, has designed, implemented and run major outsourcing relationships and has a strong background in Corporate Governance, Business Protection and Risk Management at an operational level.
Nick was most recently Chief Operating Officer at Morley Fund Management where he ran Operations, Technology, Change Management, Supplier Management, Business Protection and Facilities. He was the driving force behind the outsourcing of Operations to J.P.Morgan, one of the largest transactions of its kind at the time, and also in the negotiations to establish a Joint Venture Fund Management company in China. He built effective Operational Client Relationship teams between Morley and their Strategic Partners in the Aviva Group.
Previously he held similar roles at Dresdner RCM, and LGT Asset Management.
At Dresdner RCM Nick helped restructure the business turning it from a loss maker into profit during his time there and assisted in the development of a more effective Global Operating Model.
At LGT Nick initially worked as Assistant Group Financial Controller in the UK and then relocated to the Far East and became Regional COO based in Hong Kong covering Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, Australia and Taiwan. He then relocated to Dublin to establish their Offshore Fund Administration organisation from scratch. Subsequently he returned to the UK to become European COO prior to the merger with INVESCO.
Nick qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1978 with Smallfield Rawlins a firm subsequently merged into Kingston Smith.
He is a life long Spurs supporter and spends as much time as he can playing golf and watching the England cricket team.
